Why is this issue important to you?
The issue is important to me because I believe we all have a responsibility to do our part to protect children. Society has a duty to protect the most vulnerable of our community.
What prompted you to get involved?
As a former nurse I witnessed first hand the atrocities of child abuse and I want to be a voice of advocacy to end the cycle.
How does your role as a Dallas City Council Member impact child abuse prevention?
Hopefully I can be a voice for prevention and advocacy.
How would you encourage others to make an impact? Everyone can play a role from supporting agencies working to serve the abused, mentoring parents, reporting abuse, or advocating for the legislation supporting CPS and programs that prevent abuse.
