Researchers found that all mass shooters over the past 53 years had certain commonalities - one of which was adverse childhood experiences (ACEs), which has been a major focus of TexProtects. While that certainly doesn't mean that all children with ACEs with commit acts of violence (the overwhelming majority do not), it does mean that prevention and treatment of ACEs needs to be part of the mix for violence prevention strategies. Thanks to the Corpus Christi Caller-Times, Houston Chronicle and Longview News-Journal for publishing our op-ed.
