Top experts to discuss solutions in the face of Texas childcare crisis.

A Crisis is jeopardizing Texas economy, costing up to $4.9 billion a year.

Members of the media, businesses, chambers, policymakers, child advocates and the public are invited to attend a webinar featuring top experts across the state discussing how the lack of reliable childcare is jeopardizing the Texas economy. Featured speakers will offer insight into how evidence-informed early childhood education policy is the key to strong businesses and economic development across Texas.

The webinar is hosted by Texas Prenatal-to-Three Collaborative (PN-3), a statewide collaborative initiative led by TexProtects, Texans Care for Children and Children at Risk, along with the Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives, Ready Nation and Early Matters Texas.

A reliable, well-educated and productive present and future workforce makes for a strong Texas economy. A recent ReadyNation report shows that the lack of reliable childcare for working parents of young children up to age three could add up to $4.9 Billion in annual costs for Texas.

ABOUT TEXAS PRENATAL-TO-THREE COLLABORATIVE PN-3 is a collaborative initiative led by TexProtects, Texans Care for Children and Children at Risk to drive a strategic policy plan to increase services to more than 300,000 low-income infants, toddlers, and families by 2026. With funding from the Pritzker Children’s Initiative, the collaborative comprises 190 stakeholders, representing over 115 cross-sector partners statewide and six state agencies/offices. PN-3 envisions a Texas where 1) All children are born healthy and have equitable access to health and early learning supports in their homes and communities. 2) Early childhood systems are aligned, coordinated, and well-funded to ensure young children and their families are healthy and thriving.
