TexProtects' Collaborations and Roundtables

Prenatal to Three (PN-3) Collaborative

To assure Texas infants, toddlers, and their families get off to the strongest start, TexProtects, Texans Care for Children, and Children at Risk have partnered to lead a collaborative effort to implement a cross-sector prenatal-to-three strategic agenda that aligns with and enhances efforts across the state. With funding from the Pritzker Children’s Initiative, more than 190 stakeholders, representing 115 organizations and six state agencies/offices, have come together as PN-3 Collaborative partners. The Child Protection Roundtable

In 2008, TexProtects created the Child Protection Roundtable (CPRT), which brings together statewide research experts, advocates, and program providers from 60 organizations with child protection expertise. Prior to each legislative session, the CPRT researches and shares information about the latest challenges within the child welfare system and uses these ideas as the building blocks for consensus on public policy and budget priorities. Statewide Home Visiting Consortium

During the fall of 2012, TexProtects organized the Texas Home Visiting Consortium, consisting of representatives from the evidence-based and promising home visiting programs throughout the state of Texas. The mission of the Consortium is to bring together Texas home visiting programs to increase the awareness of home visiting in Texas and to coordinate legislative efforts. LEARN MORE>>

TexProtects Public Policy Committee

TexProtects’ Public Policy Committee is the heart of where the organization launches its ideas and formulates its concepts on the broad-scale systemic change needed to improve the Texas child protection and judicial systems as well as ways to bring evidence-based child abuse prevention programs to scale statewide. TexProtects employs an intricate system of collaboration and research to develop priorities and agenda items, which truly reflect our members’ concerns by incorporating their input. The committee is comprised of key DFW community partners and stakeholders that meet monthly in the interim legislative session to develop proposals that result in legislative priorities. Dallas H.O.P.E.S.

TexProtects has joined efforts with United Way of Metropolitan Dallas to implement a $3.4 million comprehensive child abuse prevention strategy in our local community known as project H.O.P.E.S, Healthy Outcomes through Prevention and Early Support using TexProtects' Child Protection and Family Strengthening Ecosystem (image below). This program offers services to help families with young children create the best possible environment for them to grow and thrive. LEARN MORE>>
